LACKLAND AIR FORCE BASE, Texas
-- Wilford Hall Medical Center Chief of Trauma Lt. Col.
(Dr.) Donald Jenkins was chosen to receive the 2005 Air
Force Association Paul W. Myers Award. This is the second
consecutive year that a 59th Medical Wing physician was
selected for this award.
The annual award is designed to recognize
superior performance and leadership potential of an Air
Force Medical Service physician in the field. Colonel
Jenkins was selected for his outstanding efforts to improve
combat casualty care and his contributions to national
defense and aerospace.
“This is a direct reflection of the
outstanding work done by the men and women of the 59th
Medical Wing,” said Jenkins. “I consider myself to be
just the spokesperson for a team of people whose expertise,
passion and commitment are brought together in this organization
with a synergy unparalleled in the Air Force.”
The award includes a formal plaque
and citation, which will be presented September 12 in
conjunction with the 2005 Air and Space Conference and
Technology Exposition in Washington, D.C.
